His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI has appointed the young and illustrious Director of the Portuguese Pontific College in Rome, D. Manuel José Garcia Cordeiro, Lord Bishop of Braganza-Miranda. The Order adds its voice to the huge outburst of joy by the choice of this son of the Diocese.
HABEMUS MAGISTER
On December 10th the Chapter General of the Order of Saint Eulalia, assembled in Braga (Portugal), has elected His Excellency Prof. H. D. Cerqueira de Souza as the eleventh Chancellor and Grand Master. Laus Deo!
Prof. Cerqueira de Souza is 47 years old, was born in Mozambique and currently lives in Portugal. Until recently he was a professor at the Catholic University and has published several essays on different subjects such as Family History and Theology, Art History and Architecture.
Prof. Cerqueira de Souza is a well esteemed personality both in the Catholic Church and the Academic world. In the photo (left) is seen with the Reverend Bishop of Leira-Fatima and Prof. Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa.

NEW MONASTERY
The Order is now accepting donations to build a new monastery in Portugal. We expect to raise nearly one million Euros to buy the land and to pay for the building itself. We will have more information on this subject very soon.
